I have a simple goal in life, keep my sister happy, and one of her most anticipated yearly events is reading my Birthday Trivia list. Last year I gave you 37 useless facts about myself and this year I present to you the 2nd Annual Birthday Trivia List:
1. I am deathly afraid of heights. Just looking at a tall building makes me woozy, but I love to fly and the height of the airplane doesn’t bother me one bit.
2. I dream in color and remember my dreams down to the last detail.
3. Sometimes I have dreams that my teeth are falling out.
4. I eat cookie dough straight from the tube, not even bothering to cook it. I’m sure this has no connection to my dream of my teeth falling out.
5. I own over 70 pairs of shoes. I know, it’s an addiction but I’m not willing to seek therapy for it.
6. I name my handbags and refer to them by their names.
7. I love the smell of new tires.
8. My dad installed my own tetherball poll in our backyard when I was a kid and we played more games together than I can count. He nicknamed me “tether breath” because I loved playing tether ball. Endearing isn’t it?
9. I can’t stand going to my bed with bare feet; I have to have socks on.
10. I love to eat breakfast for dinner.
11. I love spiders and lizards but would never keep one as a pet.
12. I can explain the difference between how frogs and toads lay their eggs, name all 50 states in alphabetical order, and pick out a ’67 Fastback Mustang from a distance but I lose every time at Trivial Pursuit.
13. I cry when I get nervous, I hate it.
14. I’ve never been able to do the splits although I’ve wanted to for so long. Unfortunately I’m as limber as a 2x4 so it doesn’t look like it’s happening anytime soon.
15. I love to mow my own yard.
16. Pulling weeds is like therapy for me, when I’ve got a lot on my mind I pull weeds.
17. I hate pizza, yuck!
18. I’ve seen “Pretty in Pink” so many times I can recite the lines and if it came on again this weekend, I’d watch it again.
19. I had my palm read as a joke when I was in my early 20’s and so far everything the lady said has come true.
20. I have no desire to get my masters degree, I’m as smart as I need to be, but I envy people who have completed their masters.
21. When I was in junior high I wanted to be an architect and would spend all my spare time drawing floor plans for houses I wanted to build.
22. It took me 3 semesters to pass College Algebra. I finally passed with a 70% and that’s only because I attached a $50 dollar bill to my final exam when I turned it in. I’m just kidding, I would never attach a $50 bill to my final exam, it was a 20.
23. I hate the smell, taste, and texture of bananas but I love banana bread.
24. I have been to a camel auction.
25. I have lived in or visited 5 different countries.
26. I had chicken pox twice.
27. I had braces twice, the last time I was in my thirties when I had them on.
28. I drive like a little old lady and rarely ever go over the speed limit.
29. My favorite color is pink and green. Yes, I know they are two separate colors but in my world they are one.
30. I love roller coasters, the more loops the better. I cry on my way up b/c of my fear of heights but I’m in pure heaven during the ride.
31. My second grade teacher taught us “House of the Rising Sun” and “Yellow Submarine” and we’d sing them every week as a class while he played the guitar.
32. I have flown 37,000 feet over Baghdad, Iraq.
33. The first concert I ever went to was U2 back in the 80’s.
34. The second night I went out with Randy I told my mom, “I’m going to marry that man.”
35. Randy and I were married on 11/11/00 which was 1 year, 1 month and 1 day after we met, we didn’t plan it that way.
36. I could live off of chips and salsa and sweet tea.
37. I have terrible insomnia.
38. I had no idea I could love a child so much that I didn’t give birth to, but I am amazed over and over again at how hard I fell for Artem.

And Away We Go...
I finally decided on a name and let me tell you it was no easy task. Y'all gave me some great suggestions and as much as I loved "The Rest of Our Story", my twisted sense of humor couldn't let "Cheerios In My Shorts" go. I only wish the person that suggested it had signed their name on the comment because I don't know who to thank for the suggestion. I also couldn't pass up the suggestion that Alexis gave me, "Our Life on the Little Screen" and used that as the blog description. There were so many good ideas to pick from that it was pretty tough to decide and I knew you would come through for me and give some great stuff. Thank you! So for now I'm getting settled in to the new blog and trying to get this place looking good. (It's all about the chotchkie you know)
I've got a few stories to share with you over the next few days. Of course I'll have to share about my massage in Dubai where I had my underwear tucked into my back end and showed off my skivvies to all the ladies in the waiting area, I'm sure it was the highlight of their day. I've got the story of our trip to Dubai to share with you and I've got my 2nd Annual list of Useless Birthday Trivia to post, but before I get to all of that, let me give you one more reason that I should be voted "Mother of the Year" for 2008:
That would be my oh-so talented and gifted son wearing his big boy potty on his head while I'm uploading page backgrounds to the new blog. I'm pretty sure the award is all mine this year ladies!!
